Dr Ruggiero has joined IEC in January 2017. He is the Secretary for the Systems Committee “LVDC and LVDC for Electricity Access” and covers other responsibilities related to Systems Engineering and Systems Approach within the IEC.
Prior to joining IEC, Dr Ruggiero has worked for the space engineering industry, at RAL Space in UK, one of the biggest European facilities for the calibration of space instruments, where he has lead projects on design and development of complex instruments for space programs.
During his professional career, he has also worked 15 years at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, coordinating international programs and managing the development of large-scale instrumentation systems designed to explore the fundamental structure of the matter at very high energy.
Dr Ruggiero graduated in Physics at the University of Naples and has received a PhD at the University of Glasgow with a thesis on instrumentation for High Energy Physics. Dr Ruggiero is also a certified project management professional through PMI and a certified systems engineering professional through INCOSE.
